PURPOSE:To attain the accurate output of a supplied Roman character string by using a means to discriminate whether an input character string is shown in Roman characters or not, and converting the Roman characters into KANA (Japanese syllabary), then into KANJI (Chinese character) according to the result of said discrimination. CONSTITUTION:In a Roman character/KANA conversion control mode, an input key code is fetched to a CPU to discriminate whether said key code is equal to the alphabet used to show the Roman characters or a symbol. If the alphabet and the symbol system are discriminated, the CPU discriminates again whether the corresponding code is a consonant or not. When a consonant is decided, the consonant code is stored to the address of a RAM where the address data of the RAM is added to the contents of an index register. Then the consonant code is compared with the contents of a Roman character/KANA conversion table set within the RAM. When the coincidence is obtained, the corresponding KANA or symbol is stored to the RAM. Then the KANA/KANJI conversion is carried out and outputted. Thus, it is possible to output an input Roman character string after converting it accurately into KANJI. |
