PURPOSE:To grasp an advance speed of a corrosion without giving a disturbance, and to diagnose the corrosion with a high sensitivity and with a high accuracy by scanning an electrode by keeping a distance to the metallic surface constant in the vertical direction of the metallic surface, and measuring the potential. CONSTITUTION:A detecting electrode 2 to which a minute displacement is given for measuring a potential difference between displacement points is installed to an X-Y-Z axis stage 5 together with a Z axis positioning sensor 4, and installed to an X-Y-Z mechanism driven by two stepping motors and one motor. In this state, the stepping motor is brought to program control and scanned in the X-Y direction, and at the same time, by the sensor 4 and driving the motor by this signal, the Z direction position of the electrode 2 is kept at a constant distance from a metallic surface 6, and a potential difference obtained by a displacement of the electrode 2 is measured at each scanning point. This obtained potential difference is processed by a computer 7 and converted to a current density, by which a corrosion speed is derived. |
