PURPOSE:To improve practicability, by a method wherein, in a refrigerator, mounted on a car, which is usable as a console box (container) as well, in case the refrigerator is used as a container, a state, in which a cold air inlet is left opened, is displayed by a mechanism which prevents a containing lid from being closed. CONSTITUTION:In case an object, which is placed in a refrigerator 1, is cooled, a circular door 40, which opens and closes a cold air inlet 38 formed in the bottom of a case 31, is controlled to an opening position. Cold air, flowing out from an air conditioning unit, is guided in a storage space 32 through the cold air inlet 38 to cool the object. In case the case 31 is used as a containing box for a cassette case 21, a holding table 20 is placed in the case 31, and a support leg 20a of the holding table 20 is interposed into through-holes 40c in the circular door 40 forced into a closed position to hold the holding table 20 in a position. In which case, if the circular door 40 is brought into an opening position, the holding table 20 is not located in a position, and thereby, the containing lid 33 can be closed, and this displays that the cold air inlet 38 is left opened.
