PURPOSE:To attain the rapid attenuation of a current when a switch is quenched by providing plural diodes of the same polarity in the case of connecting the diodes for circuit protection in parallel in a superconductive equipment wherein a superconductive coil and a superconductive switch are connected in parallel. CONSTITUTION:In a region 5 of 4.2K, a superconductive switch 2 and a superconductive coil 3 are connected in parallel and an exciting current is supplied from a power source 1 for excitation provided outside of the region 5. In this construction, the switch 2 and the coil 3 are further provided with diodes for circuit protection in parallel but the diodes are in series and parallel. For example, plural diodes such as 4 and 6 are connected. If the switch 2 is quenched due to any reason, the current to the diodes due to an electromotive force generated at both the ends of the coil 3 is dispersed, the attenuation of the current is made rapidly and the circuit is protected securely. |
