PURPOSE:To shorten the cooling time by drilling a through hole into a turbine wheel chamber for injecting compressed air from a nozzle disposed in the through hole so that the wheel chamber can rapidly be cooled after stopping the turbine. CONSTITUTION:A through hole 3 is drilled in the outer wall 1 of the steam turbine wheel chamber, and an adaptor 10 having a nozzle is installed therein. After stopping the steam turbine, compressed air is injected from the nozzle via a filter unit 9 and a pipe 11 in order to forcibly causing a convection in the wheel chamber. In this manner, he wheel chamber and rotor are forcibly cooled to shorten the cooling time so that an inspection and others can be performed quickly at the time of an accident. |
