PURPOSE:To obtain a compact polishing device retractable with small energy by fixing a drive source and a polishing tool at the end of a rotary shaft penetrating through a cylinder journaled to the piston shaft of fixed cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Air is fed into the rear chamber of cylinder 2 to advance a piston 21 thus to advance the piston shaft 22 and a rotary shaft 3. A steel rod member W premounted on a turning roller T through feed skid S is rotated through said roller T. Through advance of said shaft 3, the outercircumference W1 of the tip section of the steel member W at the side of grinding wheel 4 will contact against the outercircumferential face of the grinding wheel 4 to turn on an air motor M thus to remove the burr at the outercircumference by means of the grinding wheel 4 thereafter the motor M is turned off to de-energize the cylinder 2 thus to retract and stop the grinding wheel 4. Finally, rotation of the roller T will stop to function a feed skid S thus to carry out the grinded steel rod W laterally from the roller T.
