PURPOSE:To positively ignite a burner, by bringing an ignition heater close to an igniting cloth to ignite it from the closing position of a combustion air valve. CONSTITUTION:When a switch on the machine case 7 of a grain drier is turned ON, an ignition heater 4 fitted to a combustion air valve 5 is energized. It is red-heated and is neared to the optimum position of an ignition cloth 3 to be ignited by a manually operated open/close lever 11. Then the ignition cloth 3 is spontaneously ignited. Combustion after ignition in a pre-flame chamber 2 lasts long because the rate of combustion air sucked into the chamber 2 is not large, as the combustion air valve 5 has returned to its closed position. Accordingly, a flame tray 16 and a burner body 17 are able to be heated enough, so that main fuel can be vaporized well. The combustion flames in the preflame chamber 2 make the vaporized fuel ignite and burn without fail.
