PURPOSE:To enlarge allowance for setting a magnet and to enhance cleaning performance and cleaning efficiency by controlling the magnet flux density of 2 adjacent magnetic poles opposite to an image-bearing body to 300-1,300 gauss, and an angle between the adjacent magnetic poles to 30-90 deg.. CONSTITUTION:A nonmagnetic cylindrical sleeve has a fixed magnet having plural magnetic poles in the inside, and rotatably supported opposite to the image-bearing body, and attracts a magnetic toner. A regulating blade formed above the sleeve regulates an amt. of toner on the sleeve. The 2 magnetic poles adjacent to each other and opposite to the image bearing body have a magnetic flux density of 300-1,300 gauss, and an angle theta between these 2 poles is controlled to 30 deg.<=theta<=90 deg.. In an Se type electrostatic latent image-bearing body 5, the toner remaining after image transfer is affected directly with transfer potential, and made positive in polarity, but the electrostatic toner charge is adjusted nearly to zero with a destaticizing corotron 4. |
