PURPOSE:To enable easy decision of the flickering state of a light source for optical transmission from the outside by forming such a light leaking part through which part of the light from the light source for optical transmission leaks to the outside. CONSTITUTION:A plug 2 fits and holds an optical fiber O and is fitted into the body part 12 of a receptacle 1. The light source 4 for optical transmission is installed to face the fiber O in the part 12 of the receptacle 1. A sloped hole rising slightly toward the fiber O is provided in the part 12 of the receptacle 1 and a light transmittable member 5 is fitted into said hole. When the light source 4 is lighted, part of the light thereof is illuminated through the member 5 and therefore the lighting can be judged at a glance from the outside. The entry of the light from the outside into the fiber O while the light source is not lighted is prevented if the member 5 as the light leaking part is obliquely provided.
