PURPOSE:To change a communication speed in accordance with error generating frequency and to improve the efficiency of data replacement by counting up the error generating frequency in a communication line and forming an optimum clock in accordance with the counter contents. CONSTITUTION:A master station 1 is connected to a slave station 8 through the communication line 11 and a processing program 2 and an automatic communication speed setting part 3 are formed in the master station 1. Transmission data 28 from the program 2 is stored in a transmission buffer 4 and data are transmitted/received between the master station 1 and the slave station 8 in accordance with the timing of a synchronizing signal 17 generated from a synchronizing signal generator 18. The transmission data of the slave station obtained from the communication line 11 is checked and a data error is counter by a communication error counter 12. In addition, the counter 12 adds error information 24 to an optimum value calculator 14 in each unit time obtained from a unit time counter 13. An upper limit value 19, a lower limit value 20 and a pitch value 21 are inputted to the calculator 14, which calculates the optimum value and informs an optimum clock value 23 and an error report to a synchronizing signal generator 5 and the program 2 respectively to change the communication speed. |
