<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the number of steps up to the stop of a tape-like recording medium and to stop the tape quickly and stably by using the travelling distance of the tape which is necessary for the discrimination of a required stopping position to travel the tape at a low speed in the reverse direction. CONSTITUTION:At the time of blank search in an FF mode, the level drop of a reproduced queue signal is detected at a point G ( 52) in the FF mode and then the state that the level of the reproduced queue signal is not raised even if the tape is travelled by a prescribed distance is detected by a point H ( 53). Consequently, the part H is detected as the leading part of an unrecorded part of a video signal and the FF is released at the timing, but a head is moved up to a point I due to its inertia. Therefore, the tape is rewound at a low speed in the reverse direction, and after detecting the rise of the reproduced queue signal at the point G ( 54), the tape travelling is stopped. Since the tape is travelled at the low speed, the head is stopped at a position (O55) close to the point G.</p> |
