PURPOSE:To obtain a titled wire that reduces spatter generated at the time of welding by gas shield arc welding and improves the quality of weld zone by forming a surface film of proper weight made of Al or Al alloy having proper thickness on outer periphery of a steel core. CONSTITUTION:The wire is provided with a surface film of Al or Al alloy over whole outer periphery of a steel core. It is a wire for welding having a skin, and thickness of above-mentioned surface film is 0.5-1,000mum and the ratio of the weight of the skin per unit length to total weight is less than 0.2. By using this wire, spray transfer in gas shielded arc welding is made possible, and welding of deep penetration can be done without generating spatter practically. |
