CATALYST BODY FOR PURIFYING EXHAUST GAS

PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst body for purifying exhaust gas excellent in heat resistance, life and poisoning resistance, by using a titanium oxide powder having metal oxide deposited thereon and calcium aluminate as carrier components. CONSTITUTION:At least one catalyst selected from platinum group metals and rare earth elements is supported by a catalyst carrier which is obtained by containing a titanium oxide powder having oxide of a metal selected from aluminum, silicon, zirconium and titanium deposited to the surface thereof and calcium aluminate and further adding zirconia or silica as a base aggregate material if necessary while molding the resulting composition.
