<p>PURPOSE:To enable the enhancement of output of a Diesel engine or the like to which a radial turbine is applied, by providing a relatively simple mechanism which can assure intake pressure necessary to raise the torque in the low and medium speed range. CONSTITUTION:A compact supercharger for vehicle has a turbine wheel 2 on one end of a rotary shaft 3. A blower fan shaft is mounted on the other end of the rotary shaft 3. The turbine wheel 2 is located in a turbine wheel chamber 1. A shaft 12 is so provided that is extends almost perpendicularly to the rotary shaft 3 but does not intersect it. A gas regulating plate 11 is rotated around the shaft 12. The regulating plate 11 is located along a scroll. An orifice w, through which exhaust gas introduced into a scroll casing passes when flowing into the turbine wheel 2, is opened or closed by the regulating plate 11 actuated by a cylinder 19 depending on the intake pressure etc. to keep them constant.</p> |
