Elementary analysis (%); C, 41.7; H, 5.81; N, 0.0. Specific rotatory power [alpha]D+202 deg. (c; 0.14, water). Aconitane B; Molecular weight; 2.1X10<5> (measured by the above-mentioned method). Elementary analysis (%); C, 41.7; H, 5.34; N, 1.28. Specific rotatory power [alpha]D+24.6 deg. (c; 0.15, water). Aconitane C; Molecular weight; 4.3X10<3> (measured by the above-mentioned method). Elementary analysis (%); C, 40.2; H, 5.06; N; 0.54. Specific rotatory power [alpha]D+14.8 deg. (C; 0.15, water). USE:A hypoglycemic agent or immunological enhancer. PREPARATION:Aconitum carmichaeli Debeaux of the family Ranunculaceae or aconite root of a plant of the allied species is extracted with water or an aqueous organic solvent, and the resultant extract is dialyzed or ultrafiltered to give an aconitane mixture, which is then subjected to cellulose chromatography, molecular weight fractionation, etc. and isolated. |
