<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the influence of inertia extremely and to stop a tape-like recording medium at a required stopping position by travelling the recording medium at a low speed in a prescribed direction at a time immediately before the stop of the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:When a head 5 arrives at a point G ( 52), the output of a detecting circuit 201 is turned from H to L, so that the device is turned to a stop mode to stop the travelling of the tape, but the tape is not actually stopped due to inertia until the head 5 reaches a point I. When the device is turned to the stop mode, a signal T'8 is turned to H and a pulse indicating the head of a blank is supplied to one input terminal of an AND gate 222 through a delay circuit 217 for a light period. Since the signal T'8 is in the H state again, a narrow pulse is outputted from the AND gate 222 as a signal T'2, the device is turned to a reverse P/B mode and the tape starts to travel at a low speed in the reverse direction. When the head 5 reaches the point G ( 54) again, the output of the circuit 201 is turned from L to H and thereby the device is turned to the stop mode again, but the tape is stopped at a position (O55) where the head 5 is close to the point G because the travelling speed of the tape is slow.</p> |
