<p>PURPOSE:To perfectly remove air pollution substances such as CO, NOx, hydrocarbon or SOx motor car exhaust gas, by attaching a water treatment chamber in a sound arresting muffler. CONSTITUTION:The exhaust gas of an engine goes over a water seal plate 7 from the exhaust gas port of a filter and scattered into the water in the treatment chamber 4 of a first water tank from holes of the drainboard 12 fixed above the water surface 48 in order to stop the shaking of the water surface 48 through an undereater scattering trough 15. After air pollution substances are dissolved in water, the exhaust gas is guided to a limestone filter chamber 25 from the opening part 9 of a partition plate 18 for partitioning the chamber and the air pollution substances are decomposed by the alkalinity of limestone. Subsequently, the exhaust gas is guided to a charcoal filter chamber 29 from the holes of a limestone pressing drainboard 28 to remove an offensive smell and air pollution substances. The treated exhaust gas is passed through water to be guided to a stainless steel fiber filter 39 through a limestone filter 37 to remove suspended substances therein and guided to a charcoal filter chambe 41. Similar treatment is repeated to raise and fall the exhaust gas which is then exhausted from an exhaust port 84 through fiber filters 68, 73, 78.</p> |
