<p>A spark ignition system for an internal combustion engine includes a control arrangement for inhibiting the production of sparks when the engine temperature rises above a predetermined valve irrespective of engine speed, has a common control for inhibiting sparks during the above condition or, when the engines rotational speed is above a set value. Preferably the set value is decreased progressively with increasing engine temperature. A pick up (44) produces a pulsed output at a frequency proportional to engine speed, a spark control apparatus being connected to the pick-up and including a sensor (2) for engine temperature.</p> |
