<p>PURPOSE:To deodorize an acidic malodorous component generated by preheating scraps, by thermally decomposing Ca-compound by waste heat of an electric furnace such as an arc furnace and sending thermally decomposed components to a scrap preheating apparatus along with exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:The gas exhausted fom an electric furnace 1 such as an arc furnace is burnt in a combustion chamber 2 and a part of the exhaust gas is guided to a preheater 7 through a duct 5 to preheat scraps. The reduced slag powder (Ca-compound) obtained from the arc furnace 1 is injected in a duct 3 from a blow-in apparatus 13 and decomposed in the duct 3 by the heat of the exhaust gas while thermally decomposed components are sent into the preheater 7 along with the exhasut gas. The acidic malodorous gas such as H2S generated by preheating the screaps is reacted with the thermally decomposed components and deodorized. Subsequently, the exhaust gas is cooled in a cooling tower 6 and exhausted to the open air through bag house 12.</p> |
