Prcdn. of decorative plates, in the form of metallic network in which the voids are occupied by transparent sheets of various colours, comprises following steps:- (a) prepg. printing means conceived to reproduce, in the form of a positive, the pattern of the metallic network (CU) as well as the reference and centering signs (A,A', C,C',C") adequate for subsequent operations; (b) printing the pattern and the reference signs with a protection ink on the copper surface of a plate comprising a layer (CU) of electrolyte copper and a layer (VR) of epoxy resin and glass fibres and having a total thickness of 0.2-1mm, (c) chemically removing the copper from the zones ncn-protected by the ink; (d) prepg. printing means (M1,M2,M3) conceived to reproduce, in the form of an inverted positive, at least part of the transparent zones (D) corresponding to the voids of the metallic network, simultaneously with the reference signs, (e) printing the zones (D) with coloured ink on the side of the plate opposite tc that comprising the electrolyte copper layer, (f) prepg. printing means conceived to reproduce, in the form of an inverted positive, the metallic network pattern, (g) printing the pattern (R) on the back of the plate with a metallic ink having the same colour as copper or a colour which will be subsequently imparted to the ccpper network, (h) covering the copper network by electroplating of a precious metal (i) varnishing the 2 surfaces of the plate with a transparent protective varnish and (j) cutting the plate according to the perimeter of the pattern with simultaneous formation of connection apertures.
