PURPOSE:To make surface treatment for a blade performable easily and efficiently, by bundling plural blades of a rotary compressor together in a state of being coherent with one another in parallel, while exposing each of their tip parts, and performing soft nitriding for these blade tip parts. CONSTITUTION:As for a surface treatment process of each blade 10 for a rotary compressor, first of all, plural blades are made to tie together in parallel, then each shield plate 13 is made to stick fast to the sides 10a and 10b of blades 10 situated at both ends. After doing like this, they are housed inside a processing furnace and soft nitriding takes place. Since all sides of each blade come into a state of being shielded, they are in no case exposed to a nitriding atmosphere, that is, each tip part 10a alone is subject to the soft nitriding. Therefore, a lot of blades are treatable at a time, thus the promotion of improvements in operatability comes to fruition.
