PURPOSE:To display a code directly on a keyboard and to enable an operator to easily recognize a key to be selected to obtain the code by limiting the 2nd keying within a range of a key itself used at the 1st keying and keys adjacent to the 1st key. CONSTITUTION:When the titled format is applied to a keyboard consisting of 16 keys, the selecting range of the 2nd key is limited to five keys consisting of the key itself used at the 1st keying and upper, lower, right, and left keys adjacent to the 1st one. Therefore, five kinds of codes can be selected in accordance with the selection of the 2nd key. The key top of each key is divided into five areas S-W and codes to be included in the selection range by the 1st keying are displayed in respective areas on the key top. The operator can recognize the key to be depressed at the 2nd time in accordance with the area of the display on the key top.
