PURPOSE:To reproduce the gradation in density of an original picture with high accuracy by bringing a head to heating control by a different value, when an OHP film printing mode has been selected. CONSTITUTION:A titled printer has a mode switching device 31 for switching a normal printing mode and an OHP film printing mode, and when the mode switching device 31 has adopted a pulse width memory 30 for the OHP film printing mode, the head is brought to heating control by a different value from the time when a pulse width memory 29 for the normal printing mode has been adopted. According to this constitution, the head can be controlled by a different value in accordance with the case when printing is executed to a printing form by using ink, and the case when an OHP film is made by heating directly a transparent film by the head, therefore, in both cases, the gradation in density of a picture can be reproduced with high accuracy.
