发明名称 SWIRL STRENGTH REGULATING DEVICE FOR DIRECT INJECTION TYPE DIESEL ENGINE
摘要 PURPOSE:To regulate the strength of swirl and improve the efficiency of an engine by connecting two, long and short, intake ports in a portion close to an intake valve, of one of the intake ports and providing a valve which is controlled by the revolution and load of an engine to change its inclination angle, in said portion. CONSTITUTION:In a direct injection type Diesel engine, an intake port 6 which is connected to an intake valve 4, is formed longer than an intake port 7 which is connected to an intake port 5. The intake ports 6, 7 are connected to each other in a portion 8 close to the intake valve 5. And a valve 9 which is controlled by one or both of the revolution and load of the engine to change its angle of inclination, is provided in a portion close to the inlet side of the intake port 7 or the connecting portion 8. The optimum strength of swirl is stored in the memory of a computer 11 and, based on this, the posture of the valve 9 is changed by a signal which is changed accompanying the variation in the operating condition of the engine via a link mechanism 12. Thereby, the strength of swirl is regulated following the variation in the operating condition of the engine.
