PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of classification work, by throwing articles in a plurality of recirculated and transferred buckets while measuring the wts. thereof at the start end part and discharging the article in each bucket to each chute corresponding to a rank classified by a wt. in the vicinity of the final end part. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of buckets 10 are conveyed to the direction shown by the arrow A in an endless state by a conveyor apparatus 20. Articles thrown from a plurality (two sets in the drawing) of throw-in ports 511, 512 are pooled in pooling positions 531, 532 at the start end part where the buckets 10 are held under a receiving state and subsequently weighed by weighing machines 541, 542 to be discharged in the buckets 10 directly under said weighing machines 541, 542. The buckets 10 open support apparatuses 371-375 on the way of advance to the direction shown by the arrow corresponding to the wts. of the thrown-in articles at every rank on the basis of the order of a central processing part 60 to fall the articles to discharge chutes 39. By this method, a large amount of articles can be classified within a short time. This classifier is suitable for the classification of fresh foods.
