摘要 PURPOSE:To attain to detect the cutting phase of an ink droplet within a short time and to prevent printing strain, by detecting the cutting place of the ink droplet by changing the phase of pulse width of a charge signal pulse and shifting the phase of AC voltage applied to an exciting means corresponding to the phase difference with a predetermined phase. CONSTITUTION:When AC voltage is applied to an electrostriction vibrator 2, an ink stream 6 is separated into ink droplets 7 at constant intervals synchronous to AC voltage. When voltage is applied to a charge electrode 8 in synchronous relation to the timing of the cutting separation of the ink stream 6, ink droplets receive charge proportional to charge voltage and passed through the electric field between deflection electrodes 9a, 9b and deflected to be impinged to a recording body 11 where recording spots are formed. The ink droplets not used in recording is collected and recovered by a gutter 10 also used as an ink droplet cutting phase detection electrode and reused. A control circuit 13 controls the phase of the cutting phase detecting charge pulse of a charge voltage generation circuit 14 corresponding to the output of an ink droplet cutting phase detection circuit 12 and controls the phase of alternating voltage corresponding to the detected charge phase.
