PURPOSE:To secure such an actuating body as being simple in structure, excellent in actuative reliability and applicable to a filter, a rectifying body, etc., by installing a hollow pellet consisting of a shape memory alloy, while setting the displacement based on a form memory effect in this hollow pellet down to an actuating source. CONSTITUTION:Hollow pellets 1 consisting of a flat shape memory alloy being formatively shored in a spherical form each are housed inside a reticulate housing frame 2a, constituting a temperature sensitive type actuating body 2. And, this actuating body 2 is set up inside a duct 3 to be connected to a room 4 where a heater 5 is set up therein, by way of example. Now, if temperature inside the room 4 goes up beyond the specified one due to heating by the heater 5, air flowing inside the duct 3 rises in its temperature whereby form restoration in each hollow pellet 1 develops, and the actuating body 2 thus comes into a state of being expanded. Therefore, the duct 3 comes into a state of being closed, and since a chimneying effect of the duct 3 is brought to nothing in consequence, the spread of a fire, for example, is obviable. With this constitution, such a temperature sensitive type actuating body as being simple in structure, excellent in actuative reliability against a temperature variation is offerable. |
