PURPOSE:To facilitate smooth suction and exhaust in a four-cycle engine by using piston valves for suction and exhaust valves and operating these valves with crankshafts so set as to be in 1/2 rotation ratio to the engine shaft rotation. CONSTITUTION:Piston valves 3 are operated by crankshafts 2 so set as to be in 1/2 rotation ratio to an engine shaft 1 through rods. The relative position of the piston valves 3 and ports 4 are matched so that the suction and exhaust periods are the same as the suction and exhaust periods of conventional four-cycle engines. By this arrangement, the opening and closing area of the suction and exhaust valve of the four-cycle engine can be enlarged and the valves themselves are prevented from being the resistance of the suction and exhaust air. |
