PURPOSE:To make pressure loss in draft uniform and to stabilize the operation of a blast furnace by alternately piling up coke and ore of a proper grain size in layers in a yard, cutting off the resulting pile from one end, and charging it into the blast furnace as a mixture having a proper mixing ratio. CONSTITUTION:Ore 1 and coke 2 of 5-30mm. grain size are alternately piled up in layers in a yard, and the resulting pile is cut off from one end and charged into a blast furnace as a mixture having 20-80 volume ratio of coke/ore. Hot air is blown into the furnace from a tuyere to carry out operation. By this method the mixing ratio of ore/coke is simply kept at the desired value without requiring any considerable change in the existing charging equipment. Pressure loss in draft in the blast furnace is made uniform by effectively reducing peaks, and the internal state of the furnace during operation is stabilized. |
