PURPOSE:To obtain an uniform electrolyte retention layer which is arranged between a fuel electrode and an oxidizing agent electrode by forming it after spraying phosphoric acid on a matrix body applied to the surface of at least either one of the fuel electrode and the oxidizing agent electrode. CONSTITUTION:An electrolyte retention layer, arranged between a fuel electrode and an oxidizing agent electrode, is formed by jetting out phosphoric acid heated to high temperature from a spray nozzle 1 with a phosphate applying device to apply phosphoric acid on a matrix body applied to the surface of at least one electrode. And, it is possible to control the coating amount precisely by making the nozzle 1 to a device which is driven by NC control. Thus, the electrolyte retention layer, which is thinner and uniform, can be obtained, and the forming of the electrolyte retention layer can be automated. By this way, the improvement in reliability and economy can be obtained. |
