COMPOSITION FOR FIXING METALLIC POWDER MOLDING DURING SINTERING

PURPOSE:To fix a metallic powder molding consisting of metallic powder and synthetic resin binder to the surface of a metallic base material in the stage of forming a sintered metallic layer of said metallic powder molding on the surface of the metallic base material by using a specifically composed compsn. for fixing. CONSTITUTION:The sheet-shaped metallic powder molding formed by kneading 100pts.wt. <=50 mesh powder consisting of a wear-resistant alloy and 1pt.wt., in terms of a solid content, resin binder formed by diluting an acrylic polymer by an org. solvent such as acetone is adhered onto a metallic base body to 0.5-5mm. thickness. The compsn. for fixing consisting of a mixture composed of a thermosetting resin such as expoxy resin of which the residual carbon content after the end of sintering is >=0.5% and a hardener such as dicyandiamide is preliminarily coated on the surface of the base metallic material to 10-30mum thickness in this stage, by which the softening of the molding on the slope, bottom surface of the base metallic material and the consequent exfoliation, dislodgement thereof by the own weight during sintering are prevented.
