PURPOSE:To decrease optical loss by providing one short focus lens to which an optical fiber is connected and short focal length lens groups which are arranged in parallel with each other according to the number of wavelength components and to which optical fibers are connected. CONSTITUTION:An optical demultiplexer and multiplexer are provided to face a plane diffraction grating 1 and are constituted by having one short focal length lens 3 to which the optical fiber 2 is connected and the short focal length lens groups 6-1-6-n which are arranged in parallel with each other according to the number of the wavelength components, are provided to face the grating 1 respectively via plane mirrors 4-1-4-n and to which the optical fibers 5-1-5-n are connected. The input light of the wavelength components lambda1-lambdan transmitted by the fibers 5-1-5-n are made incident on the mirrors 4-1-4-n after the light are made into parallel light by the lens 6-1-6-n. The incident light are condensed to the fiber 2. Since the light is received by the optical fiber, the optical loss is decreased considerably. |
