PURPOSE:To simply and accurately prevent the disorder of an inner surface shape and the disturbance of cords, by forming excavations deep enough to secure the thickness of a skid base to the projection forming region of a green tire within a range not protruded from the side edge of at least one layer of a belt. CONSTITUTION:In forming high and large projections to the outer periphery of the tread rubber of a green tire, excavations 2 are formed between adjacent projections. At this time, at least one layer of a belt B is made wide and applied to the outermost layer of the belt B and the side edge B' thereof is positioned outside the side edge of each excavation 2. Further, the side edge B' is positioned at a part separated by 15% or more of the belt width W outside the belt and the dimension w2 of each excavation 2 in the lateral direction is extended over 10% or more, pref., 30% or more of the belt width W. The max. depth H of each excavation 2 is determined to a limit leaving the thickness (h) of a skid base required in the completed tire on a case member B. By this mechanism, the disorder of the inner surface shape of the tire following the disturbance of cords accompanied by he violent flow of a rubber layer to be formed into projections can be prevented. |
