摘要 <p>Prodn. of a laminar, shaped polymer article comprises (a) blending 60-95 wt.% polyolefin (I), 5-40 wt.% incompatible condensation polymer (II), and 0.25-12 wt.% alkylcarboxyl substd. polyolefin (III) with an unsatd. monomer having a carboxylic moiety grafted to the polyolefin; (b) heating the blend to above the m.pt. of the highest melting polymer component; (c) stretching a body of the melt 100-500% in at least one direction; and (d) cooling this to below the m.pt. of the lowest melting polymer component. - This forms an article with (I) present in the form of a continuous matrix phase and (II) present as a discontinuous distribution of thin, 2D, parallel and overlapping layers, (II) being present between the matrix and the layers to bind the two together. - (I) is pref. particulate polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutylene, or their copolymers. (II) is pref. particulate polyamide or polyester. (III) is pref. particulate and has carboxylic moieties on the polyolefin backbone or side chains. - A compsn. is formed with exhibits improved barrier to fluid permeation and improved mechanical properties.
