PURPOSE:To obtain recording with high optical density, by using a recording head having recording elements arranged thereto in plural lines and forming a recording pattern by the recording elements of the first line and subsequently forming a recording pattern by the recording elements of the second line so as to overlap the same on the previous recording pattern. CONSTITUTION:First printing 13a is applied to recording paper 12 through an ink ribbon 11 by the heat generating part 2 of a first line and second printing 13b is subsequently performed by the heat generating part 3 of a second line, when the heat generating part 3 of the second line reached the printed part, so as to be overlapped on the first printing 13a. Therefore, a current is supplied to the heat generating part 3 from a signal electrode 9 so that the heat generating part 3 of the second line generates heat so as to perform the second printing when a head 1 was moved over a distance (n+1)l. By arranging the heat generating parts 2, 3 as mentioned above, the timing of the second printing is made extremely easy and accurate and all of printings 13 take a double structure consisting first and second printings 13a, 13b and optical density is doubled as compared with one printing. |
