PURPOSE:To realize an efficient cache memory by using a small capacity local memory, by executing a pre-read control when reading out a data from a disk. CONSTITUTION:A cache memory 9 is provided in a local memory 8, and one unit of a cache consisting of continuous (n) pieces of units can store a data of an eight sector portion of a disk. In order to indicate an address as to, to which area of which track of a disk 15 a data stored in each cache unit belongs, a cache managing table 10 is provided. A data request from an actual host machine often repeats an access to continuous areas, therefore, by executing pre- read, the data of the cache can be used in case of the next access from the host machine, therefore, the time can be shortened. |
