PURPOSE:To obtain desired molds having excellent corrosion resistance and greatly improved separability by forming the thin film of a Hastelloy C alloy on the portion to be touched by rubber of molds for vulcanization and molding of rubber by high-frequency sputtering. CONSTITUTION:A mold 1 subjected to given cleaning and degreasing treatments is placed on an lower electrode 2 and a Hastelloy C alloy disc 4 is attached to an upper electrode 3 in a sputtering chamber 5. The air of the chamber 5 is evacuated to a high vacuum degree from an exhaust cylinder 6, and Ar gas is introduced from a line 7 into the chamber 5 to adjust to a given pressure. High frequency is applied from a power source 8 and a matching device 9 to the electrode 2 side for etching the mold 1, and then a high frequency is applied to the electrode 3 side for forming the thin film of Hastelloy C alloy 4 on the surface of the mold 1 by sputtering. Molds for vulcanization and molding of rubbers, which are excellent in corrosion resistance and separability (or releasing property), can thus be obtained. |
