PURPOSE:To prevent a two stage shock due to overshoot, a downshoot or a gear shift shock, by previously changing the opening degree of a throttle valve by a predetermined amount in synchronizm with the shift change of a speed change mechanism. CONSTITUTION:An automobile speed control unit 10 receivs an actual vehicle speed signal and a set vehicle speed signal from detecting means, and issues a vehicle speed control operation signal and a shift change signal to an automatic transmission control unit 20 and a throttle valve opening signal and a predetermined amount operation signal are issued to an actuator 12. The unit 20 receives the vehicle speed control operation signal and the shift change signal from the control unit 10, and the actual vehicle speed signal and the throttle valve opening degree signal, directly from the detecting means, and issues a signal to a speed change mechanism 14 in an automatic transmission unit which uses gear trains, etc. so that the shift control of the transmission is made. |
