PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a resonating state, by a method wherein a heavy object is removably locked to a floating structure, and by means of a detecting signal from a wave period sensor, the heavy object is locked when a wave period about coincides with a natural period. CONSTITUTION:A heavy object 5 is disposed to a floating structure 1 such as off-shore restaurants, and a gear is locked to a rack formed on a strut 7, and this causes repetition of integral engagement with the floating structure 1 and disengagement therefrom. The period of waves surging upon the off-shore structure 1 is detected by a sensor 4, and by means of the detecting signal, it is decided by a deciding circuit 8 whether the period of waves is a value being about similar to that of the natural period of the off-shore structure 1, and in response to a decision signal from the circuit 8, the heavy object 5 is engaged and disengaged. When the period of the wave about coincides with the natural period of the structure, the heavy object 5 is integrally locked, and this enables prevention of the occurrence of a resonating state.
