PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to replace a developing device, etc., when a copy of a composite color of >=2 colors is taken by providing a developing unit which performs development in different colors and setting a developing tank of a color specified by the developing unit part opposite a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:A developing tank control circuit 63 sets a developing tank 51 specified with a switch 66 for toner color selection opposite the photosensitive body 3 on the basis of a signal from a reed switch 49 for detecting the rotational position of the developing unit part 5, signals from sensors 44A-44C which detect developing tanks 51A-51C for respective color toner particles, a signal from a main control circuit 65, etc. For example, when blue toner is specified, a motor 62 is driven until the signal from the sensor 44B is inputted and stopped with the detection signal of the sensor 44B to put the blue developing tank 51B opposite the photosensitive body 3. Consequently, a copy of a desired composite color is taken without replacing any developing tank. |
