PURPOSE:To automate adjustment and to eliminate adjustment errors by providing a control device which controls either the electrifying potential by an electrifier and the exposing intensity by an exposing device according to the result of reading by an information reader for identifying a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:Bar codes BC for classifying the electrical and optical characteristics of a photosensitive drum 1 to, for example, four stages are attached to said drum. A control circuit 4 for the electrifying potential and a control circuit 5 for the exposing intensity control the electrifier (not shown in a figure) and the exposing device (not shown in the figure) according to the respective segments. As a result the adequate electrifying potential and exposing intensity according to the characteristics of the drum 1 are automatically given.
