PURPOSE:To prevent slip of an emulsion layer and repellency of the emulsion and to enhance coating speed by roughening the surface to be coated with a photographic emulsion layer so as to resemble continuous bubbles. CONSTITUTION:The surface to be coated with the photosensitive emulsion layer is given a roughened face like continuous bubbles. Such a bubble-like roughened surface is formed with a roll plated with 10-50mum thick Cr. It is preferable to roughen the resin-coated paper by using the roll having its surface roughened with sand blasting or liquid honing. The first roughening of the resin-coated paper and its second rounding roughening like bubbles permits perfect substitution of the emulsion layer for air to be attained because of the smooth surface, and slip of the emulsion layer and repellency of the emulsion to be prevented even when high speed coating is carried out. |
