PURPOSE:To simplify the construction by holding a paper bail roller at the position separated from a platen with an electromagnet mechanism even except for the time of setting printing paper in a serial printer or the like. CONSTITUTION:When the suction of paper is indicated, with the application of a high voltage to an electromagnet mechanism 16, a paper bailing lever 13 is swung to the left against a spring force 15 and separates a paper bail roller 14 from the platen 11 to insert a printing paper 12. When the setting of a paper 12 is completed, the electric energization of the electromagnet mechanism 16 is stopped and the lever 13 is swung to the right with the spring 15 while a low voltage is fed to the electromagnet mechanism 16 to land the roller 14 softly immediately before the roller 14 reaches the surface of the platen 11. Therefore, this reduces impact sounds to leave no press mark on a printing paper and also eliminates the need for any special mechanism to hold the paper bailing roller at the position separated thereby simplifying the construction. |
