PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-insulating synthetic wooden board free of warping and distortion by a method in which a cellulosic short fiber is mixed with a reinforcing fiber such as glass fiber, etc., and the mixture is pressed under high pressures for molding. CONSTITUTION:A cellulosic base material (e.g., wood chips, pulp, etc.) is cut into short fibers and beaten into cottony material to form an aggregate 1 having many raising portions 1a on its surfaces and having sizes of about 60 mesh. The aggregate 1 of short fibers is mixed with an inorganic reinforcing fiber 2 (e.g., glass fiber or carbon fiber mainly) to form a mixed material. The mixed material is hot- or cold-pressed to bring about the integral adherence of the aggregates 1 and the entanglement of the fibers 2. Since expansion and contraction caused by the swelling of the aggregate 1 are absorbed by the raising portions 1a, the occurrence of warping and distortion of the synthetic wood board can be prevented. |
