Halogen-containing apovincamine acid esters, have the formula <IMAGE> in which the substituents are defined in Claim 1. Processes are described for preparing the compounds of the formula I from halogen-containing 14-oxo-15-hydroximino-E-homo-eburnane derivatives. Medicaments having an antihypoxic action contain as active component a compound of the formula I or a physiologically tolerated salt thereof.
