<p>PURPOSE:To prevent steering force from hunting, by providing a means for detecting the speed of steering to anticipate an overrun of a motor or the like so that the motor is deenergized when the steering speed becomes below a set value. CONSTITUTION:Torque transmitted from the rotary shaft of a motor 17 which is coupled with the rack shaft of a steering gear gives an assist force to a steering system. In the condition that a steering operation is nearly completed and the steering speed lowers below a set value, the output of a steering speed detector 4 turns into a low level, and therefore, the output of a relay drive circuit 2 also turns into a low level. As a result, a coil 9e in a power source relay 9 is deenergized to open a contact 9a so that the motor 17 is deenergized. Accordingly, even if the motor overruns due to its inertia, it is possible to prevent wheels from being excessively steered so that the stability of the steering control may be enhanced.</p> |
