PURPOSE:To obtain the EC display device which has no defect when a current is turned on and off by connecting one EC display element to two diodes and injecting a positive charge through one diode and a negative charge through the other diode. CONSTITUTION:The electrochromic EC display device has data lines 6 shown by D(1), D(2)...D(I)...D(M) and scanning lines show by SA(1)...SA(J)..., SB(1)...SB(J), etc. One terminal of an EC display element (I,J) is connected to the data line D(I) and the other terminal is connected to the forward terminal of the diode RA(I,J) and the backward terminal of the RB(I,J). Thus, one EC display element is connected to two diodes, which are connected to independent wiring; a positive charge is injected through one diode and a negative charge is injected through the other diode to eliminate normal defects, obtaining an active matrix which makes a practical EC display. |
