The invention relates to a remote control device for a water inlet especially a cold water inlet for supplying water to a washing machine, a dishwasher and/or a sanitary appliance. This device is characterised in that it comprises a chassis 2 acting as a support to a stop tap 37 whose shaft 36, on which the hollow ball is mounted, is provided with a lever 31 actuated, via a control link 22, from the top 16 of the said sanitary appliance.
