A transport device for the continuous transport of flexible material, especially photosensitive material in photosetting units, has a pair of driven drawing rollers and, if necessary, a pair of tensioning rollers which are driven in the opposite direction. In order to transport the web material at uniform speed at a certain point, a driven transport roller (11) and two deflection rollers (21,22) are arranged between the pair of drawing rollers (4) and the pair of tensioning rollers (7), the deflection rollers (21,22) being arranged opposite one another at the same distance from a first diametral plane (23) of the transport roller and at a distance from a second diametral plane of the transport roller, which is at right angles to the first one. Furthermore, this arrangement is chosen in such a way that the web material guided round the deflection rollers (21,22) and the transport roller wraps flatly round the transport roller. The deflection rollers connected to one another can be displaced in a deflection plane (27), which is parallel to the second diametral plane, in such a direction that differences the tension of the web material (sections 19, 20) which act on the deflection rollers bring about a displacement of the deflection rollers which compensates for the differences in the tension. <IMAGE>
