PURPOSE:To prevent skews from misdetecting by forming a means for detecting a skew amount of a business form at the leading and final end parts of the business form and detecting the skew as an error only when the skew amount exceeds a previously set reference value. CONSTITUTION:A counter 5 starts to count from a point of time when a sensor A or B is turned to DARK states after the arrival of the business form and inputs its counted value to a comparator 6. The counted value is compared with a previously set reference value, and when the counted value is larger than the reference value, a skew I is outputted. When the final end part of the business form has been compeletely passed through a sensor part and both the sensors A, B are simultaneously turned to LIGHT state, the counting is stopped. The counted output of the final end part is inputted to a comparator 14, and when the counted value is larger than the reference value, a skew II is outputted. The skews I, II are inputted to an AND circuit 15 and outputted as a skew error. Since the skews I, II are outputted as a skew error only when both the counted values of the leading and final end parts exceed the reference value, the misdetection of the skews can be prevented. |
